
In this story, Lightning Boy had been renamed Lightning Lad, and their costumes were very close to those they wore throughout the Silver Age of Comic Books.

In Adventure Comics #247 (April 1958) by writer Otto Binder and artist Al Plastino, Superboy met three teenagers from the 30th century: Lightning Boy, Saturn Girl, and Cosmic Boy, who were members of a "super-hero club" called the Legion of Super-Heroes. In 2019, DC announced a new series written by Brian Michael Bendis and drawn by Ryan Sook. A fourth version of the team, nearly identical to the original version, was introduced in 2007. The team has undergone two major reboots during its run. Eventually, Superboy was removed from the team altogether and appeared only as an occasional guest star.
